The CARE Center of New Jersey's Public Resource Center is dedicated to not only providing free and accessible information and resources but also actively assisting individuals and families in securing the support they need. Our mission is to empower communities by offering personalized guidance, navigating complex systems, and connecting people with essential tools and insights to overcome life's challenges.

Our Services

The Public Resource Center provides various services to assist individuals in accessing and navigating public programs, which many find complex or are unaware of. Our offerings include providing forms, educational materials, referrals, and hosting free seminars and workshops. These events are designed to inform participants about different benefits, eligibility criteria, and application processes. We also provide practical knowledge in specific areas, such as taxes, to help individuals maximize the public benefits available to them.

  • Disability: Obtain information for people with disabilities and their families, including available disability benefits while working, getting paid as a caregiver, and finding jobs.
  • Domestic Violence: Access information on local shelters and legal resources to ensure the safety and protection of yourself and your children.
  • Disasters and Emergencies: Learn about disaster relief and discover government benefits for various emergencies.
  • Government Benefits: Access information on government programs that can assist with paying for food, housing, health care, and other basic living expenses, including:
    • Food assistance
    • Help with utility bills
    • Welfare benefits or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
    • Health insurance
    • Social Security
  • Housing: Get details about programs for rental assistance, home buying, and home repairs. Learn how to find emergency housing and avoid foreclosure and eviction.
